A real blog
October 22nd, 2004So… I got interested in blogging several months ago, but until today I didn’t have a good way to put one up. I looked into web hosting (the kind you pay for), but that seemed like overkill and I like to do things on the cheap. I tried running some blogging software called Movable Type, but Comcast is slow and doesn’t like us to host things through their connection anyway. Since I have free hosting through Carnegie Mellon, I figure I might as well use it. After a spoonful of research, I discovered this service—blogger.com—which assembles my blog and delivers it to the CMU file server for hosting. It’s free, easy, and has some nice-looking templates. Sold.
